Waterville, Ohio ...

Waterville, Ohio has been affectionately referred to as H2Oville by indigenous people. This Waterville site is conceived, built, operated and maintained by local h2oville residents to promote the American model of democracy in our village. At one time Waterville had a public square. As time went by, a grammar school was built on the site where citizens typically gathered and local politicians campaigned. Waterville no longer has the flavor of its roots as an old canal town where people often came in contact with their neighbors on a daily basis. Like most people in a modern society, we go about our busy schedule not really getting to know our neighbors to any significant degree as was more the case in a gone by era.

Important social issues and concerns of local Village of Waterville import have taken a back seat to other concerns and have eroded over the years. This Waterville based website is in part an attempt to facilitate access to the local free market place of ideas. The Internet has become an appliance of convenience, much the way microwave ovens and dishwashers have eased our burdens and facilitated the ability to use our time for other pursuits.

Waterville, Ohio once again has a "public square." But, now it is in the form of an electronic gathering.
